Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 29, 2026
This policy explains what information CalcPerch ("we", "us") does and does not collect when you use calcperch.com, and the choices you have.
What we don't collect
The numbers and files you put into our calculators and image, PDF and text tools — dates of birth, weights, loan amounts, photos, documents, anything — are processed entirely in your browser. They are never transmitted to, stored on, or seen by our servers. We do not require accounts, and we do not ask for your name or email to use any tool.
One tool is different, and we want to be plain about it. The URL Shortener has to send data off your device, because that is what shortening a link means. Everything else on the site stays local. See the section below.
The URL Shortener (the one exception)
When you shorten a link at /url-shortener/:
- The address you paste is sent to a third-party shortening service — is.gd, with v.gd and TinyURL as fallbacks — which creates and stores the redirect. This is unavoidable: a short link cannot point anywhere unless someone stores the destination. The link you receive is theirs, and their privacy policy and retention rules apply to it. We do not control them.
- We do not store, log, or count anything about it. No account, no IP address, no click counting, and no copy of the destination on our side.
- Links we issued on calcperch.com/s/… before 29 July 2026 are still stored in Cloudflare Workers KV and still redirect. Those created from 28 July 2026 onward carry a one-year expiry and are removed automatically; the handful created before that date were written without one, so they persist until deleted by hand. Nothing identifying the person who created them was ever stored — only the destination address. We stopped issuing new ones on our own domain for abuse-prevention reasons.
- Because the destination is stored by whoever creates the redirect, do not shorten a URL that contains a password, a one-time login link, or any other secret.
Information collected automatically
Like nearly all websites, our hosting provider (Cloudflare) may log basic technical data when pages are served — such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested — for security and to keep the site running. These logs are not used to identify individual visitors.
What your browser stores on your device
One thing is saved locally, and it is worth naming because it is a record of what you looked at. When you open a calculator, its name and address are written to your browser’s localStorage under the key cp_recent, and the last six appear as a “Recently used” row on the homepage. It never leaves your device: there is no request that sends it anywhere, and we cannot read it.
It is still your browsing history, on a shared or borrowed computer as much as on your own, so: clearing your browser’s site data for calcperch.com removes it, private/incognito windows never persist it, and nothing on the site depends on it — the row simply does not appear when the key is empty.
Cookies and advertising
CalcPerch is funded by advertising. We use Google AdSense to display ads:
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
- You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ad Settings, or opt out of some third-party cookies at www.aboutads.info.
Ads are not running on this site yet — it is not currently approved for AdSense, so no advertising cookies are being set by anyone at present. A Google-certified consent message covering the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland is configured and published in the AdSense account for this site, and visitors from those regions will see it from the moment ads first serve. It has not been shown to anyone so far, for the simple reason that there is nothing yet to consent to.
Analytics
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to see which pages are useful. It is cookie-free, does not fingerprint your device, and does not track you across other websites — it records page views, referrer, country and device type in aggregate. We cannot identify an individual visitor from it.
Links to other sites
Some pages link to external websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of other sites and encourage you to read their policies.
Children's privacy
CalcPerch is a general-audience site and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update this page and the date above. Significant changes will be noted on the homepage.
