About CalcPerch

CalcPerch is a small, independent collection of free online calculators — a perch where you can land, get your answer, and fly off.

Our mission

Most calculator sites bury a tiny input box under walls of clutter. We build the opposite: every CalcPerch tool loads instantly, works on any phone or laptop, and gives you the answer plus a short, plain-English explanation of the math behind it — so you don't just get a number, you understand it.

What you'll find here

As of July 2026, CalcPerch offers 38 free tools across 10 categories — money and loan calculators, salary and take-home pay tools, unit converters, AI cost calculators with weekly-verified pricing, image tools (background remover, compressor, converter), PDF tools, and text utilities — plus a growing set of plain-English guides that explain the ideas behind the numbers. AI pricing data is re-verified every week; other reference data is reviewed monthly.

How our calculators work

CalcPerch tools run in your browser using JavaScript. Nothing you type — not your birth date, your weight, or your loan amount — is sent to our servers or stored anywhere. Close the tab and it's gone. That holds for the calculators and for the image, PDF and text tools alike: the file you drop in is read by your own device, not uploaded.

There is exactly one exception and it is worth naming rather than burying. The URL shortener has to send the address you paste to the service that stores the redirect — that is what shortening a link means, and no amount of engineering makes it local. We keep no copy and count no clicks; the privacy policy spells out what happens to it. Every other tool on the site is local, and the way to confirm that rather than take our word for it is to open your browser's network tab and watch: there is no request carrying your data, because there is nowhere for it to go.

Who runs CalcPerch

CalcPerch is built and maintained by an independent developer — one person who writes the code, checks the math, and reads every message sent to the contact address. There's no content farm behind it: each tool is hand-built, and new tools are added only when they can be done properly.

Accuracy and data sources

Each calculator is built from standard, published formulas (which we show on every tool page) and is tested against known reference values before release. Reference data comes from primary sources:

That said, our tools are for general information: for medical, legal, or financial decisions, please consult a qualified professional. If you spot an error, tell us — corrections ship within days.

How the site is funded

CalcPerch is free to use and supported by advertising. Ads never affect the results our calculators produce.
